Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Pharmacy Technician to join our team. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the pharmacy operations and providing excellent patient care. This position is based in a hospital setting, specifically in acute care and critical care areas.
Duties:
- Prepare and dispense medications accurately and efficiently under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist
- Maintain inventory of medications and supplies, ensuring proper storage and labeling
- Assist in the compounding of sterile products using aseptic technique
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes
- Provide exceptional customer service to patients, addressing their inquiries and concerns
- Assist in the delivery of medications to patient care areas
- Perform data entry tasks accurately and maintain patient records
- Adhere to all relevant laws, regulations, and policies related to pharmacy operations
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician program
- Current Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and pharmaceutical calculations
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting is preferred
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with pharmacy software systems
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
